You Are Not Alone

When faced with problems there are                            Jesus always knew that he was
times when we may feel that we are                            not alone and that God never left
alone.  We are not alone.  God is with                         his side.
us during every problem we confront
and inspires us in every step we take                                         John 8:29
to solve our problems.  Our heavenly
father continues to journey with us as                    29.  And he that sent me is
long as we do not reject him and his                            with me: the Father hath not
words.                                                                       left me alone; for I do always
                                                                                those things that please him.

Azariah the son of Oded:                                        yea, is now come, that ye
                                                                                shall be scattered, every

and said unto him, Hear ye me,                               leave me alone: and yet
Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin;                            I am not alone, because
The LORD is with you, while ye be                           the Father is with me.

with him; and if ye seek him, he
will be found of you; but if ye                                   These scriptures show how
forsake him, he will forsake you.                              Jesus viewed God.  Jesus
knew that God would be with
When we decide to stay with God                            him even if his friends
through adopting his ways he  will                            abandoned him.  Jesus therefore
stay with us.                                                          choose to please God rather
than men.  We all need to
Situations may arise in our lives that                        follow Jesus' example and
try to tempt us to leave God's                                  be certain in our hearts that
kingdom and to give into the cares of the                  God will be with us even when

   temptation their relationship with God
becomes destroyed.  It is very                                               2 Kings 6:15-17
   possible to repair this relationship
through humbling oneself and asking                   15. And when the servant of
God for mercy and forgiveness.  Once                       the man of God was risen
we sincerely humble ourselves and                           early, and gone forth, behold,
repent, God happily welcomes us back                     an host compassed the city
to his kingdom.                                                       both with horses and chariots.

                                                                           16.  And he answered, Fear
not: for they that be with us
God will not forsake us while we are                         are more than they that be
persecuted for his name.  Although                          with them.
feelings of suffering may abound, as
we are mocked, God will not abandon                 17.  And Elisha prayed, and
us and will even strengthen us as we                       said, LORD, I pray thee,
are challenged.                                                      open his eyes, that he
                                                                                may see. And the LORD
                                                                                opened the eyes of the
Luke 15:18-24                                                 young man; and he saw:
                                                                                and, behold, the mountain
18. I will arise and go to my father,                              was full of horses and chariots
and will say unto him, Father, I                               of fire round about Elisha.
     have sinned against heaven, and
before thee,                                                          Elisha wanted his servant to
see that they were not alone
19. And am no more worthy to be                                but that God was with them.
called thy son: make me as one                             Even though it seemed as
of thy hired servants.                                             though the enemy
                                                                                outnumbered Elisha and
20. And he arose, and came to his                              God's people, God
father. But when he was yet a                                outnumbered the enemy by
great way off, his father saw him,                            far.  As believers we need to
and had compassion, and ran, and                         know that God is with us
fell on his neck, and kissed him.                            and is much greater than
                                                                                our enemies and our problems.
21. And the son said unto him,                                   Knowing that God is with us
Father, I have sinned against                                 at all times gives comfort
heaven, and in thy sight, and am                            through any situation.
no more worthy to be called thy
     son.

22. But the father said to his
servants, Bring forth the best robe,
and put it on him; and put a ring on
his hand, and shoes on his feet:

23. And bring hither the fatted calf,
and kill it; and let us eat, and be
     merry:

24. For this my son was dead, and
is alive again; he was lost, and is
found.  And they began to be
     marry.

Just as the prodical son left his father
and returned humbly, we can also
decide to return humbly and be
    instantaneously welcomed by God
    for our change of heart.
